I was pretty surprised to find out not long ago that there is actually different backgammon board games played around the world.  Backgammon has been around a long time, I’ve heard since the time of the ancient Egyptians, so different parts of the globe have created different rule variants and some even have an altered board.  The coolest part about all of this, though, is that you can actually play these different backgammon board games online.

Internet backgammon sites are always coming up with great ways to attract new players it seems, and I was really excited to find out that one of the new things they’ve started doing is offering players the ability to play different backgammon board games from around the world.  Now, I was playing this on a free site and I’m not sure if this is something the real money sites have picked up yet, but it’s sure a lot of fun to play either way.  Playing these different backgammon board games really mixes up the backgammon experience and allows you to challenge yourself and have a lot of fun.  For me personally I also think that playing these different rules variants allows you to understand the game better and playing different strategies can prove worthwhile if you pick up a few moves that would work in traditional backgammon.

But for the most part playing the different backgammon board games is just a lot of fun and worth trying out whether it’s for money or just for fun.
